We are delighted to say that Simpkins & Co is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this month. Specialising in personal injury, clinical negligence claims, and employment law, we have assisted in excess of 3,000 clients since being established in 2004.
We’ve seen significant changes during that period, including the handling of an increasing number of serious and complex legal cases, resulting in at least £15million of combined compensation awards being secured for our clients.
Principal solicitor Steve Simpkins who personally has over 25 years of claims handing experience, said, “Regrettably, as an industry there has previously been an influx of claims managements companies that have set up, and not always acted to the scrupulous standards expected. The downside of that has been the awful ‘ambulance chasing’ label, but the upside is there is now a real need and demand for bona fide specialist and accredited law firms to handle the more complicated cases that involve protracted, complex and multifaceted legal work.”
Since 2004 we have secured personal injury and clinical negligence compensation for clients, including around 150 Polish speaking clients through Polish speaking advisers. We also provide legal services to employers and employees on all aspects of employment law.
Steve added, “A benefit of working as a small team means that all those involved in handling the case can offer client support. In many instances the injury sustained by a client will have a major impact not just on their own health and wellbeing, but on that of their family members too. Compensation (including interim funds before final settlement) may help them with any physical adjustments or specialist adaptations to their home, and they welcome the relationship they build with us throughout the legal process.”
Steve and his colleagues also offer legal advice through local branches of New Forest Citizens Advice and sit on the Board of the charity which relies solely on fundraising to provide free community support.
Summing up, Steve said, “We’ve seen some huge changes not just in our industry but here in Highcliffe. We love being based here as it’s a thriving area, and we are positioned well to help our clients in both Hampshire and Dorset. When you need legal advice it can be daunting, and we like to think that we offer a friendly, professional service that is valued by the thousands of people we’ve assisted in the last fifteen years. No doubt we will see another period of change in the next fifteen years, especially in matters of employment law and workers’ rights, whatever the outcome of Brexit may be.”
