It wasn’t a glorious June evening, but nevertheless thank you to all our friends and guests who attended our summer soiree held in the State Dining Room at the beautifully restored Highcliffe Castle. The wonderful news to share with you is that we raised the amazing sum of £700 on the night, so for everyone who dug deep in their pockets for raffle tickets and donations, thank you so very much.
This year we decided to combine our summer drinks party with a fundraising quiz night. The consensus of those who attended seems to be that it was most enjoyable and good fun too, so we may be persuaded to do it again at some stage.
We were thrilled that members of the Spinal Injuries Association joined us on the evening, as we had selected them as our nominated charity. Through our work as specialists in personal injury claims, we have got to know more about the wonderful work of this charity. Indeed, Simpkins and Co Solicitors is a Gold Member which means we can support their endeavours and can provide legal advice to SIA members when required. Not only that, but when clients come to us to discuss compensation claims following an accident that has led to spinal cord injury, we can signpost them to the SIA for additional support.
Steve Brookes, Peer Support Officer from the SIA gave us just a short insight into the work of the Spinal Injuries Association and their support for those with spinal cord injuries. We know that the monies raised will be greatly appreciated by the charity.
