For non-criminal offences in the UK, we have civil law which is used to deal with disputes between two or more parties who seek monetary compensation for damages incurred or services that were not delivered.

At Simpkins & Co you will be assigned a dedicated lawyer to manage your case. You can be assured that we will adopt a sensitive and sympathetic approach, as we appreciate that the details and circumstances may be distressing to you.

For non-criminal offences in the UK, we have civil law which is used to deal with disputes between two or more parties who seek monetary compensation for damages incurred or services that were not delivered.

A civil litigation or dispute resolution lawyer will aim to resolve their clients’ disputes. This could be anything from Consumer Right Act claims involving the return and refund of goods, to unpaid bills and financial disputes in general.

The lawyer’s role is to assess the claim by familiarising themselves with the documentation relating to the claim and then make a judgement on whether the claim has good prospects of success. They will then advise the client on the next steps.

Civil litigation lawyers will attend mediation meetings to assist the parties with agreement and settlement of the dispute. If the dispute cannot be resolved in this way, the lawyer can issue court proceedings so that the matter can be decided by a judge. Court proceeding are the last resort, and some clients may find this daunting, but a good civil litigation lawyer will support their client through each step.

We will always treat you as an individual and offer you specialist advice and support.
