About Linda Stapleton
Linda joined Simpkins & Co in December 2017. She previously worked for the Employment Service (Jobcentres) as an Executive Officer and then for the NHS, for over a decade, as a Senior Medical Secretary in local GP surgeries, the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and the MacMillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital, working with the palliative care team. Immediately prior to joining Simpkins & Co, Linda worked for another law firm locally in private client law (probate, wills, and taxes). Linda’s role in the office is in supporting the fee earners, preparing Court documents, liaising with clients, other law firms, the Court and Barristers. Outside of work, Linda enjoys reading, the cinema and live music.
What's your most memorable case?
Several years ago, I assisted the Principal of Simpkins & Co with a complex clinical negligence matter. This involved a lot of Court documentation which at the time was relatively new to me and was a steep learning curve! However, this piqued my interest in Court procedure and is still something I enjoy doing today.
What's the best thing about your job?
Hearing from the client when a claim has settled that although they would go back to how they were before the accident, the damages they have received will have a massive impact on their life moving forward.
What's the biggest challenge that you face doing your job?
Having to use many platforms to access information and issue claims; I do have to be a “Jack of all Trades.” After four years of working in personal injury and clinical negligence law, I am learning something new every day.
